Chelsea have made a surprise move for 20-year-old Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, according to reports from Sky Sports News.

The former Barcelona man moved to Teesside in the summer from Aston Villa as Aitor Karanka looked to strengthen his attacking options at the club.

Traore has made 14 appearances since his move the club but has failed to cement a regular first-team slot in the relegation threatened side.

The pacey-winger has so far impressed almost everyone in the Premier League with his magnificent speed, but is yet to show any real quality when it comes down to his final ball.

A move to Chelsea would come as a huge surprise but Conte is believed to be a huge fan of the Middlesbrough man.

Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford is set to move the other way and it due on Teesside for a medical. Could Traore could potentially be used as part of a swap deal?
