Adama Traore set for Boro switch
Middlesbrough are set to complete a deal for Ex-Barcelona youngster Adama Traore from Championship side Aston Villa.
The Boro’s first deadline-day signing looks as though it will be 20-year-old winger Adama Traore, as he is expected at Rockliffe Park, Boro’s training facilities tomorrow morning to put pen to paper and to complete a medical.
Adama Traore only moved to England last season in a £7m switch from Spanish giants Barcelona last summer but suffered an injury-hit campaign as Villa dropped out of the top-flight.The winger could only manage 200 minutes on the pitch throughout the season.
Traore’s arrival from Aston Villa doesn’t seem to be linked in any way to Adomah’s anticipated departure in the opposite direction, although discussions between the two clubs over the last 24 hours have involved both players. A deal could be put in place involving both players, but for now, the deals look to be separate.
Adama Traore could be an influential player for Middlesbrough, as we are missing a direct wide midfielder. I would expect the youngster to feature on the right-hand side of midfield, but can also switch to left if needed.
